Now I've switched back to the computer controlled version the behaviour seems to still work since the mouse wakes up from sleep and even if it's using it's onboard profile for the first few seconds, its DPI setting is the same as what G Hub wants to set it to. This means I was never accidentally switching to a different DPI setting I didn't want, it also meant that when the mouse woke up from sleep it was at its one and only DPI setting so had no lag. I deleted all the DPI settings except the one I want, I loaded that profile to the mouse to use as an onboard profile (something I've been doing for a while now). I've just switched back to computer-controlled profiles for the G502 to test my theory and it seems like it works like I want now. It seems you can only load *one* colour profile to the keyboard, something I vaguely recall reading about now, but that only seems to be working on the first profile? Probably something I am missing. I tried playing with the keyboard again this morning.

which is exactly what is happening with this In any case, Assuming I throw it on there at least once a week it should never run flat for me anyway. It was driving me nuts at first because it just didn't seem to be charging until I read that the mat is designed to keep it between 80 and 90% charge. No plugging in, just drop it on the magnetic thing and it uses the same contacts the wireless charging mat does. I think it should still go red when it's running flat (or flash the battery indicator), but I just bought one of these charging docks (two actually, one for my son as well). The battery is pretty damn good so warning don't matter too much. About the only thing missing would be potential notifications of firmware updates, although I'm not sure if all the button binds would continue to work without G Hub if you have anything fancy setup (I do not). If you are using 100% onboard profiles once this is setup you could completely ditch G Hub too. I played with this this morning to be sure before posting this and took the opportunity to trim mine down to a single setting too, I used to have four and the only purpose they served was to cyles the lights while I set it back to the one setting I wanted after accidentally hitting that button but you can end up with only a single DPI setting. That one has to be the Orange (DPI Shift) setting. You should be able to drag those DPI setting in/out until you have only one left. Maybe I should set aside some more time to try again. Buggered if I know why and this has prevented me from actually trying the onboard mode properly.

When I load my gaming profile onboard I keep getting a scrolling RGB pattern and not my static colours. It *SHOULD* just be a "load profile to M1", rinse repeat for M2 and I would be done.

I find the G Hub software terrible in this respect. I've kicked and screamed and finally got something **similar** to my main profile loaded so it's not jarring, but I can't get it to actually work how it should. Then when it first wakes it has a local profile loaded that matches your software profile so you don't notice it load one colour then change a moment later. The "Fix" for this one is to load your main profile onboard, then switch back to software control. Gaming gives me different colours on keys I use, otherwise I've set "all" the shortcuts to be the same (there is one shortcut on G1 to switch profiles, that's it). I have two profiles in software, one for "work" and one for "gaming".

I still can't actually work out how to load profiles to the keyboard properly.

I only change this by accidentįor the keyboard it's a little harder since onboard mode does actually drop all the inactivity lighting features (like dimming to 50% of the current profile when not active). I happily made this trade off.įor the mouse I have two profiles, exactly the same everything except the colour of the logo for gaming or not gaming. You lose "low battery mode", whatever that actually is, but from here on out it's always in the mode you left it in instantly on wake up.

It was driving me batty so I read up on this.įor the mouse you can switch from software controlled profiles to onboard profiles. When it wakes up it's in some sort of default mode until the profile is loaded to the mouse from the software (the same thing happens with the G915 keyboard and its RGB LEDs).
